Warming & Cooling Center

The warming center will consist of a tent structure with lighting and heating for those seeking respite from the cold. Personal belongings must be left outside of the tent area and pets must remain leashed at all times. Due to COVID-19, masks will be required in the warming center.
The Emergency Warming Center is activated where weather forecasts show the temperature falling below 32 degrees Fahrenheit with no precipitation. Additional criteria include the temperature at or below 45 degrees Fahrenheit with anticipated precipitation of ¾ inches or more, and also includes temperature at or below 40 degrees Fahrenheit where anticipated wind speeds average 15 or more miles per hour. City staff continues to monitor weather conditions for future activations.
